This is a working meeting allowing JBD to fully understand the proposed project, as well as discussing budgets, timelines and next steps.

Following the initial consultation we provide a scope of works for the project, outlining how JBD projects are brought to fruition and outline JBD’s estimated costs to work on the project.

Projects begin with a questionnaire where clients collate project fundamentals to JBD. We review the questionnaire, then schedule a coffee to investigate and imagine the projects potential, together.

We collectively examine the proposed budget and timelines to understand the opportunities they offer for the project. During this exchange the heart and soul of the project sparks between client and designer. We listen intently and intuitively. Gathering details on the projects ambitions, its purpose and how the project is to be received when fully accomplished.

This allows JBD to fully immerse ourselves within a projects creative momentum.

During the define stage JBD assembles information which provides the canvas onto which we will create our concept.

We envelop ourselves in the clients brief, fully consider the immediate and surrounding environment. Gather information on the physical spaces, the requirements of those spaces and how those spaces will work and interact to be the most successful.

Liaising with project stakeholders on important site specific requirements and reference legislation which will impact the concept.

With information brought together during the define stage, the process of layering to create a concept blossoms.

Our concepts respond thoughtfully, capturing a clients brief and fundamental project requirements. At concept stage we work hard to establish the heart and soul of the projects identity. This identity informs our projects sincerity, consistency and individuality. Ensuring our concept best reflects our clients ambitions.

With concept approved, we progress development of the project. Here we review then incorporate previous feedback received from project stakeholders.

All areas of the project are enriched incorporating our learnings to date. The projects identity solidifies complimenting each and every touch point.

Material finishes, selections and specifications of feature elements and furniture within the project are nominated, along with fittings, fixtures, lighting and equipment.

JBD receives approval from the client and project stakeholders. Statutory approval documentation is produced and lodgement is facilitated through the required third parties.

Detailed tender documentation is prepared and issued for the project incorporating any previously received statutory approvals.

On tender return we help review the quotes received from the prospective main contractors and present to the client for discussion and nomination.

The project FF&E is aligned with availabilities.

During the construct stage we offer on-site design support to advocate on the clients behalf with the main contractor. Helping to ensure the most successful build possible for your project.

These services include regular site visits to review the main contractors build reflects the design documentation issued by JBD. Review the main contractors program of works against on-site progress.

Facilitate design led troubleshooting solutions to ensure the projects design integrity is maintained, to the clients benefit.

Following completion of the project by the main contractor. JBD offer a project presentation and styling resource.

Here we ensure furniture, objects, art and florals are presented to accentuate the projects aesthetic impact. This may also include merchandising of the clients product for commercial projects.

Following completion of the project by the main contractor. We will conduct an on-site inspection on behalf of the client to review the final deliverables provided by the main contractor. JBD provides the client a list of omissions or defects requiring remediation by the main contractor.
